About Richard Sergay: 

Richard Sergay is a recognized senior executive leader and strategist who creatively develops and executes in both new media and traditional network broadcast platforms – and is well known from many years with ABC News. His expertise includes understanding the technology landscape and creating partnerships to maximize innovative digital opportunities. A National Emmy award-winning journalist, producer, reporter and writer who has covered the technology arena as well as major domestic and international events, Richard is a key player in turning major media enterprises into brand leaders.

He is currently Chief Curator for the Curiosity Project, responsible for the launch and development of  Curiosity.com, aimed at answering the enduring “Questions of Life.” Richard has served as Senior Vice President for ShareCare and Forbestravelguide.com, and was a principal with Rebel Yell Productions.

An Emmy award-winning former Senior Producer and Journalist for ABC News, he has worked in multiple capacities with the network including its Internet and Technology Units, and as a Bureau Chief and Correspondent. He’s been the recipient of numerous awards, including one for coverage that involved reporting on the nationwide State of Emergency; anti-apartheid violence in Black townships; the civil wars in neighboring Angola and Mozambique; and the release of Nelson Mandela from prison and the ensuing peace negotiations. A graduate of the University of California with a Bachelor of Arts in Politics, he has conducted International Relations Post-Graduate work at Georgetown University and also holds a John S. Knight Fellowship from Stanford University.
